Officers succeeded in confiscating 11.3 kilograms of methamphetamine narcotics wrapped in 11 green Chinese tea plastic packages in a space in the doors of a Toyota Camry car with plate number B8023BF which had been modified in such a way that it could be used to hide methamphetamine.
This disclosure is part of a joint investigation between the West Jakarta Metro Police and the Tanjung Priok Port Police.
Two perpetrators involved in this international drug network were successfully arrested.
They are MU (23), a DJ from Medan and A (31). It is known that MU (23), who previously worked as a DJ, fell into becoming a drug courier because of lack of work and was tempted by big profits from this illicit business.

As previously reported, West Jakarta Deputy Chief of Police, AKBP Teuku Arysa Khadafi, said that 11 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine that was smuggled in a Toyota Camry car in West Jakarta came from the ASEAN region. "Currently, based on the results of the investigation, this (shabu) came from overseas, but is still in the ASEAN region," explained Arysa during a press conference at the West Jakarta Police, Wednesday (14/8/2024).
"And also the quality of this psychotropic substance is quite good, so this item has quite a high selling value, which causes the perpetrators to want to distribute it," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Narcotics Investigation, Police Commissioner Retno Jordan, explained that the disclosure of this case started with information from the public regarding the presence of methamphetamine-type drugs in cars sent from Medan, North Sumatra, to the port in West Java.
According to Jordan, the space in the car doors had been modified in such a way that it could be used to hide methamphetamine.
"For example, on the left front we put 3 kg, on the right front 3 kg, on the back 3 kg, so that all the way to the back we got were 11 packages of crystal methamphetamine," said Jordan during a press conference at the West Jakarta Metro Police. , Wednesday (14/8/2024).
