Nabire, Lawyer.kompasone.com - The Papuan People's Demonstration and the KNPB in Commemorating New York Agriment Day (15 August 1962) and Racism Day (In Surabaya 2019) were forcibly disbanded and nata water gas was shot, at the Nabire bridge, (15/08/ 24), 09.30 Papua Time.

Actions held by the West Papua National Committee (KNPB) throughout the Papua Region. In commemoration of New York Agriment Day and Racist Day.

The KNPB for the Central Papua region, Nabire, has made efforts to negotiate to carry out a peaceful demonstration with the Nabire Police, but in fact the demonstration was silenced by the police.

While the media crew was monitoring, tear gas was fired during the demonstration. Some of them were forcibly transported in police trucks and others were chased.

"The police did not allow people to convey their aspirations in front of the Forum, even if we wanted to go to the Nabire Regency DPRD Building, they were restricted and obstructed," said one of the people in charge whose name did not want to be mentioned.

He continued: "This country, a democratic country, is in accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution, and several laws also guarantee this, but in fact these laws have not been realized. All democratic spaces are buried and closed."

In the media crew's observation, one of the Operational Period stated that he emphatically REJECTS the "New York Agriment" which was carried out unilaterally by Indonesia, America, the Netherlands and the UN without involving indigenous Papuans.

"The Indonesian government allows international journalists to enter Papua. We also rejected the 1969 Pepera, we rejected the 1962 New York Agriment. All of this was done without involving Papuans as land owners," he stressed.

During the action at the Karang Mulia point, Nabire Bridge and in front of Siriwini Hospital, they were transported to the Nabire Police Station.

The authorities took off all their clothes during the action and dried the bodies of the KNPB and community members in front of the Nabire Police Station.

One of the protesters hopes that the Government will greet you, Mrs. PJ. The Governor of Central Papua and the Regent of Nabire immediately followed up to free up the action period.

The action that was held was a peaceful action, not an anarchist action.
