Jakarta, Lawyer.kompasone.com - The Garuda Bhayangkara (Garbha) Presisi Polri Taekwondo Team will compete in the 7th Taekwondo International Championship 2024 which will be held from 10 to 12 August 2024, at Assumption University of Bangkok, Thailand. Before competing, the team led by Commissioner Andi Herindra visited the Indonesian Embassy in Thailand, last Friday (9/8).
A total of 28 athletes and officials from the Indonesian Garbha Presisi Taekwondo Team were received directly by the Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand Rachmat Budiman and accompanied by Commissioner Endon Nurcahyo as Indonesian Attaché to Thailand.
On that occasion, the Head of the Garbha Presisi Polri Team, Commissioner Andi Herindra, told the ambassador that in the previous international taekwondo championship in Malaysia, the Garbha Presisi Polri Team had made a proud achievement by winning two overall champions, namely 1st General Champion in the Pomsae category and 2nd General Champion. Kyurogi. In fact, Indonesia was the best team with 14 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 5 bronze medals.
As for the taekwondo championship in Bangkok, Andi said that 30 (thirty) countries would participate. "Including Korea, China, Indonesia, Russia, India, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Hong Kong, Macau, Australia, Chinese Taipei, Laos, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kenya, Senegal, Nepal, Singapore, Vietnam and Myanmar," said Kombes Andi in his statement.
During the meeting, Andi said that Ambassador Rachmat Budiman expressed his gratitude for the visit and for winning the previous championship. In addition, Thailand has become a sports barometer in Asia. The reason is, there are many athletes who excel.
Apart from that, Ambassador Rachmat Budiman said Kombes Andi said that the Indonesian Government is serious about developing athletes to improve their performance by building and improving sports facilities.
