Jakarta, Lawyer.kompasone.com - A total of 388 Prospective Hajj Pilgrims along with 5 Group 1 Officers have begun their holy journey to the holy land of Mecca, via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, using a Garuda Indonesia aircraft (GIA 7301). In 2024, 142 groups of prospective Hajj pilgrims will depart via Soekarno-Hatta airport, divided into 2 waves.
The first departure is scheduled from 12 to 23 May 2024, while the second departure will take place from 24 May to 10 June 2024. Head of the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, R. Andika Dwi Prasetya accompanied by the Head of the Immigration Division, Wahyu Eka Putra was also present at the departure procession. On the first trip today, Prospective Hajj Pilgrims Group 1 and 2 from Pondok Gede Embarkation (JKG) and Jakarta Bekasi (JKS) will experience the ease of immigration services that have been implemented by the TPI East Jakarta Class I Immigration Office and the TPI Soekarno Special Class I Immigration Office -Hatta.
In an effort to improve the quality of services for prospective Hajj pilgrims, Immigration has implemented the Makkah Route program. This program moves the immigration process from being carried out at the prospective Hajj pilgrims' arrival airports in Jeddah and Medina, to the Departure Airport in Indonesia. This pre-arrival immigration inspection facility is carried out directly by the immigration authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The 3 airports that have implemented this program include Soekarno Hatta-Jakarta, Adi Soemarmo-Solo and Juanda-Surabaya departure airports. This allows prospective Hajj pilgrims who receive the Makkah Route service to no longer need to queue for the immigration process when they arrive at the arrival airport. Through this program, the departure process for prospective Hajj pilgrims will be smoother and more efficient, minimizing waiting time and providing extra comfort for those who will undertake this pilgrimage.
The TPI East Jakarta Class I Immigration Office and the TPI Soekarno-Hatta Special Class I Immigration Office have collaborated with related parties to ensure that the implementation of the Makkah Route program runs smoothly and effectively, as well as providing the best service for Prospective Hajj Pilgrims.
