Banda Aceh, Lawyer.kompasone.com - The Aceh Police's Narcotics Research Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) has succeeded in uncovering the illicit trafficking of 31 kg of crystal methamphetamine from the international network, Thailand-Indonesia (Aceh).
This was stated by Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Achmad Kartiko in a press conference on narcotics disclosure at the Aceh Police Machdum Sakti Hall, Wednesday, June 5 2024.
Achmad Kartiko said that Aceh Province has a very long coastline, namely 2,666 km and extensive mountains, thus providing a big challenge for the police in eradicating and enforcing the law against narcotics perpetrators, both methamphetamine and marijuana.
The Abituren Akabri 1991 said that the disclosure of 31 kg of methamphetamine occurred on Tuesday, May 28, where the Aceh Police Narcotics Directorate's Opsnal Team received information from the public about frequent transactions of methamphetamine-type narcotics in East Peureulak, East Aceh Regency.
He continued, the opsnal team, which had also been investigating the target for 25 days, immediately moved and succeeded in stopping a suspected car according to the information received.
"The suspect car was chased and stopped. After being searched, a backpack was found containing 11 packs of crystal methamphetamine in Guanyinwang brand Chinese tea packaging. So, MD alias Utoh (44) and MM alias Panjang (28) who were in the car were immediately detained. " said Achmad Kartiko.
Achmad Kartiko said the two suspects were couriers. They admitted that the methamphetamine came from Thailand and got it from FS. Next, the opsnal team went straight to FS's house. But unfortunately, the person concerned has run away. After being searched, in the cowshed near FS's house two burlaps were found containing crystal methamphetamine packaged with Guanyinwang brand Chinese tea.
Currently, the two suspects who have been arrested along with evidence in the form of 31 kg of crystal methamphetamine, two cellphones and a car have been taken to the Aceh Regional Police for legal proceedings. With this disclosure, 248 thousand lives were saved.
"They will be charged under Article 114 Paragraph (2) sub Article 112 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of a maximum prison sentence of 20 years or life imprisonment, or the death penalty," said Achmad Kartiko.
*Successfully Secured 370 Kg of Dried Marijuana in Two Locations*
Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Achmad Kartiko, accompanied by Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Armia Fahmi and Deputy Director of Narcotics Research AKBP Riki Kurniawan also said that apart from uncovering the crystal methamphetamine case, his party also succeeded in confiscating 370 kg of dried marijuana in two locations.
He explained, at the first location in Beutong Ateuh, Beutong District, Nagan Raya Regency, the Aceh Police Narcotics Directorate's operational team succeeded in confiscating 263 kg of marijuana on Wednesday, April 24 2024.
At this location the opsnal team managed to secure one courier with the initials AM (35) as well as evidence of 13 burlaps containing dried marijuana with a total weight of 263 kg. Officers also took part in confiscating a motorbike belonging to Am.
"Discovery of marijuana narcotics cases was carried out in two locations. The first location was in Beutong Ateuh, Nagan Raya. There, officers arrested a courier with the initials AM and evidence of 263 kg of marijuana. AM admitted to officers that he was paid by MH alias Pawang—already a DPO—to "shunted the marijuana for a fee of 50 thousand per kilo," explained Achmad Kartiko.
Then, he continued, at the second location officers received information from the public about suspicious activity in Lamteuba, Seulimum District, Aceh Besar Regency. Receiving this information, the operational team immediately went to the location to make arrests on Monday, May 20 2024.
However, the officers' presence was detected by the perpetrators. At the location, officers only found three sacks containing marijuana weighing 107 kg. Officers also tried to chase the perpetrator into the forest, but to no avail.
"The perpetrators knew that the officers were coming, so they immediately ran away. At the location, they only found evidence of dried marijuana weighing 107 kg. Currently it has been taken to the Aceh Regional Police to be destroyed," he said.
All evidence from both the first and second locations has been secured to the Aceh Police. The perpetrator will be charged under Article 111 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 114 Paragraph (2) and in conjunction with Article 115 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, namely distributing class I narcotics with a maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment. .
"Thank you to the public who have helped provide us with information to take action. From the disclosures in these two locations, the police have succeeded in saving 1,850 lives of the nation's generation," he concluded.
